Thread Locker

Every trip I took in my popup camper would result in a loose screw or bolt laying on the floor when we arrived at the campsite. Until we got some thread locker that is!

If you’ve ever watched your popup camper drive by a bumpy road, not from the tow vehicle, but alongside your camper as it passes by – you’ll notice the ride is fairly bumpy. This rattles loose all the little screws and bolts inside. When that happens, I simply apply some thread locker before screwing them back in. So far, nothing with thread locker applied has ever rattled loose again.

Extra Credit

I highly recommend the medium strength compound – as the extra strength compound might make it impossible to unscrew something in the future for maintenance.

I've been camping regularly since I was a kid, from quick Cub/Boy Scout trips to week-long backpacking trips and everything else in-between. We got a popup camper when our kids were 1 and 3 years old to enjoy more time outdoors together alongside a few conveniences like heat and running water. Since then, we've spent over 75 nights together as a family in our popup camper. I've learned a lot about the intricacies of a popup tent camper during this time and love to share those lessons here for the benefit of others.
